Bayer Newbury 10K Run

Bayer Newbury 10K run and under-16s races - Sunday 28th May, 2017

Bayer is once again partnering the Newbury Athletic Club (NAC) to organise the Bayer Newbury 10K event.

The races will take place on Sunday, May 28th, 2017.

This will be the tenth year of this chip-timed race and will once again include two pre-event runs through the town centre for under-16s.

The races will support Naomi House and Jacksplace again this year, hospices for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.  The charity provides care to families and young adults living in communities across the seven counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.

Entry fees will be split between the NAC and the Naomi House and Jacksplace charity - last year, almost £14,000 was raised.

All races start in the Market Place, Newbury, and races for the under-16s follow a route around the town centre on traffic free roads.

The Bayer Newbury 10K race climbs gently for the first 3km, followed by a short descent.  It is then flat for the rest of the course.  Approximately 7km of the course is on the road and the remainder on footpaths and the canal towpath.

The races:

  • Pre-event Run for ages 5 - 11 years - Approximate distance: 0.9km
    Start time: 9.10
  • Pre-event Run for under 16s - Approximate distance:  1.5km
