Based in the beautiful waterside setting of Green Park, Reading, this free laboratory for schools offers state of the art equipment, intriguing experiments, and the chance to use innovative ideas to solve tasks and develop solutions. Bayer sponsors the Cultivate Programme for young people in the Thames Valley to develop their business ideas, with prizes worth £1,000. Run by the Education Business Partnership, West Berkshire, the scheme involves young people working with assigned mentors over a period of four months. Around ten shortlisted candidates and groups from local schools then present their ideas and business plans to a judging panel at a grand awards ceremony. Click here for more information.
Bayer Agricultural Education
In partnership with the educational charity Farming And Countryside Education (FACE), which last year helped over a million youngsters experience life on a farm, the Bayer/FACE Awards recognise the great work that many UK farmers are doing to bring children closer to farming through school visits. In addition, Bayer sponsors young UK farmers to attend the Bayer Youth Ag Summit, which aims to get young farmers around the world engaged in finding sustainable agricultural solutions to a growing global need for safe, nutritious food.
