Bayer Schering Pharma announces new distribution arrangements in the UK

Bayer Schering Pharma (BSP), (the prescription medicines arm of Bayer HealthCare in the UK) is to distribute selected products (BSP Products) under a new reduced wholesaler model, with Alliance Healthcare (Distribution) Limited (UniChem), Phoenix Healthcare Distribution Limited and AAH Pharmaceuticals Limited, from 1 July 2009.

In addition, in the non-dispensing doctors sector, BSP is appointing Williams Medical Supplies Limited effective 1 July 2009.

The changes, which greatly simplify the supply chain for the BSP Products, are being made in line with other recent supply chain arrangements made across the UK pharmaceutical industry.

BSP is confident that these changes will help ensure continuity of supply of BSP Products to UK patients.

Arrangements for distribution of Bayer's Consumer Care and Bayer Animal Health products remain unchanged.
