Bayer Climate Programme UK/Ireland

Climate change - at the top of Bayer's agenda

Whether at a local or global level, we take a pragmatic approach. Our manufacturing sites have well established environmental programmes ranging from energy saving, to local community projects. At our Norwich CropScience manufacturing site, for instance, we are now able to return energy to the grid. Our offices at Uxbridge, Cambridge and our regional headquarters in Newbury (where 60% of all waste is now recycled) - all have actively managed carbon footprint reduction programmes , targeting key areas such as energy consumption, business travel and waste generation/management/recycling.

Globally, Bayer is a partner in the United Nations Environmental Programme, and is the first European chemical and pharmaceutical company to be included in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the fourth successive year. Bayer has now been included, for ten consecutive years, in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. Our Climate Change Programme includes a €1 billion investment in key landmark projects, harnessing Bayer's expertise to improve not only its own environmental performance, but that of its customers too.
