The Willows school receives some T.L.C.

The Willows Primary School in Greenham, Newbury, received some much needed tender loving care recently thanks to Newbury based Bayer’s Customer Service team.

The team, who wanted to support the local community as part of a teambuilding event, took a day out of their busy schedules to roll up their sleeves and clear the school courtyard in the morning, turning it into a place to sit and relax. In the afternoon they turned their efforts indoors to sort and categorise all the library books, making them easily accessible for the pupils.

Hilary Purton, Bayer Customer Service Manager and Parent Governor for Willows School, comments: “We are a small and close team, always wanting to put something back into the community. Carrying out this work at Willows Primary School has enabled the team to work together, to network and develop new skills, which we feel is very important.

“The school has received discouraging publicity in the past, but really deserves to be seen in a better light as the Head teacher, Alex Butler and staff are doing everything they can to help the pupils. The time given by Bayer to sort out the courtyard and library has enabled the teachers to get on with teaching their classes.”

The Willows Primary School provides a broad spectrum of sporting and curriculum activities for all pupils. The school is also fortunate in having an active support group in the form of a parents, teachers and friends association, providing a safe, stimulating environment for each individual child to develop his or her potential to the full.
