Careers with Animals

Do you like the thought of working with animals and want to learn more?

For the past two years 100s of young people from schools all around the South of England got a little bit of animal magic when they visited Bayer for our annual Careers With Animals days.

In 2020 we shall be hosting two more days from our headquarters based in Reading; Bayer Plc, 400 South Oak Way, RG26AD

Dates and times

Friday February 21st 2020 – Ages 14-18
Thursday April 9th 2020 – Ages 9-13

What to expect

Hosted by the Baylab and supported by Animal Health, and staff from the Royal Veterinary College
young learners and parents can enjoy an action packed day, seeing everything from reptiles and insects, to dogs and even a Shetland pony.

Throughout the day, we hope to introduced the children and young people to the idea of looking after animals, including feeding, welfare, veterinary topics and animal habitats. They will be assisted by a team from Bayer’s Animal Health department who talked about parasites and fleas in animals, as well as advice from The Royal Veterinary College who put theory into practice, showing you how to clean and bandage an animal, test animal heart rates, and interpret Xrays. We hope all attendees will leave feeling inspired and more informed on all the careers they could do with animals.
