Today the world recognises Science Day

We are celebrating the day by talking about the next chapter of our Science at Home STEM education campaign

With the challenges the world is currently facing, there has never been a more important time to help people understand the work scientists do and why we are so passionate about it!

This year theme for us is ‘Every Day is Science Day’ where we’re talking to children and parents about how science features in our every day. To demonstrate this, we hear from twelve-year old Kellen Hayes as he learns about his typical day, from when he wakes up in the morning to the starry sky at night.

Kellen also got the chance to interview our very own Dr. Bob Reiter, Research and Development for our Crop Science division, and Dr. Abbie Lennox, Regulatory Affairs for our Consumer Health division, to learn why both would argue that science is everywhere.

In addition, we’re inviting people to join us on LinkedIn as we host a live talk ‘Can we trust in Science’ where Naomi Oreskes, Professor of the History of Science at Harvard University, and Matthias Berninger, Head of Public Affairs, Science & Sustainability at Bayer, discuss why many people do not trust science and how can science become more believable. The discussion will be moderated by Ariane de Hoog, Head of Access to Medicine - Community Management at Bayer.

You can follow the discussion on November 11, 8.30 p.m. – 9.30 p.m. (CET), live on LinkedIn and participate with your questions.

Happy Science Day.
