Web Accessibility Statement for Bayer

Bayer is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Standards Applied

The bayer.com follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Currently, our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.*

Measures Taken to Improve Accessibility – Our Approach

We have implemented various measures to enhance the accessibility of our website, including:

  • Using an accessibility monitoring and management tool to identify and resolve accessibility issues.
  • Design enhancements for website components that do not comply with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards regarding design, colour scheme and font definition. Our goal is to enhance these website components so that people who rely on assistive technologies can navigate and use them comfortably and effortlessly.
  • Revisions to the code of the website components in order to enrich them with ARIA attributes in suitable places and to make them meet the requirements of WCAG.

    • For example, accessible colors have been introduced and were added to the digital Brand Color palette

    • Interactive elements were enhanced to ensure that they are keyboard-operable and accessible to screen readers.

Areas for Improvement

While we are actively working to enhance accessibility, there are areas that require improvement:

  • Not all PDFs on our website are fully accessible. We are working to ensure existing PDFs are available in an accessible format and will ensure all new PDFs meet accessibility standards.
  • Some interactive controls may not visibly change when selected.
  • Some ARIA description IDs may be missing.
  • Some links use generic text such as "Read more."

Other potential accessibility issues may exist. If you encounter any problems, please contact us so we can address them.

What’s Next

We are committed to continuous improvement and plan to work with Accessibility Bluelines in the future to ensure accessibility considerations are addressed from the early stages of development.
