Summer and Autumn term updates
As we begin a new academic year we sadly say goodbye to our lab assistant Zach as he embarks on his studies in Pharmaceutical chemistry and welcome Reva. Reva studies Neuroscience at the University of Leicester and joins us on her year in industry placement until Summer 2025.
This does mean if you try and contact Zach you sadly won’t receive a reply, please email baylabinfo@bayer.com should you have any questions, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Baylab Bookings
We are now fully booked for Autumn term, with Spring term dates due for release mid-September. If you are on our waiting list you’ll receive these dates, if you aren’t signed up, please email baylabinfo@bayer.com to check remaining dates for Spring term. Dates do go quickly, so we would advise signing up to our waiting lists here before end of September if possible. Priority always going to schools which haven’t attended previously.
Work Experience
In July we ran our annual “Insights into The Life Science Sector” aimed at 15-18 years. Which saw 22 students join us for a week exploring career paths in Business Support Functions, Pharmaceutical, Crop Science and Consumer Health divisions. The week proved a huge success, with students learning new knowledge and discovering new career paths.
We will be adding in an additional week in 2025 to provide more opportunities for young adults as well as work experience lab days, the first of which runs on Tuesday 29th October.
If you are interested in work experience for yourself or someone you know, all our opportunities will be posted here Work Experience with ambitions to broaden our offering in the future.
Holiday sessions
Unfortunately, we have been unable to run our free public holiday sessions consistently due to other business priorities, work experience events and staff holidays. Therefore, we have taken the decision to remove this offering for the foreseeable f, sticking to our term time sessions and early careers offerings. We would like to extend a thank you to everyone who has attended previously, your child can still attend via their school/homeschool group, so do pass on our details.
Have a great new school year everyone.
We look forward to seeing all of the schools booked into the lab over the Autumn term and are hopeful as we move into 2025 we will be offering some new programmes and support for travel costs, watch this space!
